The Lao PDR is home to 49 different ethnic groups, many with very different textiles traditions. This exhibition explores the theme of Diversity & Unity; the common threads unifying peoples across Lao. Featuring the textiles of the Tai Kadai, Lu, Phu Tai, Akha, Oma and the jungle vine of the Khmu this exhibition provides an informative and colourful look at the unifying elements of textile production.

In Nam Bak District in Luang Prabang Province there is a small Tai-Lue village that plants, spins, dyes and weaves their own cotton. Traditional daily life is very strong. This exhibitions will feature the motifs, dyes and festivals of the Na Nyang village. Tours and homestays can be arranged.
